About Putnam CountyPutnam County is located in Northwest Ohio where progressive agricultural practices compliment several Ag support-manufacturing facilities. Additional plastics and pet food suppliers, automotive parts manufacturers, an appliance and freezer company and a galvanized steel coating company have found a home in seven fully developed industrial parks drawing from a local workforce of 18,000 highly skilled people. Within 45 minutes of Putnam County are seven post secondary educational facilities including 4 universities (Ohio State University Branch, Bowling Green University, Ohio Northern University and Findlay University) and 3 colleges offering 2 and 4 year degrees in engineering, pharmacy and the finer arts programs which collaborate with new and existing businesses to provide specialized or customized training programs for existing or perspective employees. Local educational facilities include 9 area high schools with annual graduation rates over 97% with 70% of the 500 graduates enrolling in post secondary classes. Immediate 24-hour medical and emergency services in Putnam County are provided by the St. Rita’s Ambulatory Care facility in Glandorf with specialized clinics, outpatient service dialysis treatment centers and community educational programs.
