About Mercer CountyMercer County is located in West Central Ohio with the City of Celina serving as the county seat. Within a radius of 600 miles, 60% of the U S population resides, 70% of the skilled work force makes a living, and 70% of the nations’ disposable income is located. Mercer County has 1,470 farms with a total of 274,000 acres and is consistently #1 in agricultural receipts. Principal products manufactured in the county are: printed business forms; automotive parts and pistons; special machines and dies; die cast hardware; and food products. Located in the eastern part of the county is Grand Lake – St. Marys, which is one of the largest man-made lakes in the United States. Covering 13,500 acres of land, it provides boundless opportunities for fishing, camping, and boating. Plans are underway to transform Lake Shore Drive, Celina, into one of our best tourist attractions. Mercer County Community Development Department attracts and retains businesses with the help of many good state and local programs. We administer the largest Revolving Loan Fund in the State of Ohio. With a portfolio of over $6,500,000 and the creation of over 750 jobs, this has been one of our best economic tools. The department has applied for and received more than $26,000,000 in grants and incentives to help with the attraction and retention of business in the county.
