Welcome to Auglaize County
Auglaize County is one of the few communities that has successfully preserved its small-town heritage while maintaining steady economic growth.
Companies, both large and small. Will find what they need to flourish in this pro-business atmosphere.
Nestled in the west-central portion of the state, Auglaize County offers close proximity to a variety of Midwestern and East Coast markets. Two major thoroughfares- Interstate 75 and US Route 33- intersect the county, making it an ideal distribution center. When it comes to air transportation, local businesses have many options from which to choose. Home of the Neil Armstrong Airport, Auglaize County has what it takes to get companies off of the ground. Dayton International Airport is just 60 miles to the south and Columbus and Ft. Wayne, Indiana are within a 90 minute drive. Two hours north, the Port of Toledo links the county to the St. Lawrence Seaway and CSX Transportation meets local freight requirements.
Auglaize County has a quality workforce, perhaps better than anywhere else. It may be the way they were brought up on the farm or their work ethic, but they are much different in Auglaize County. Quality of the end product is the result of not only the environment and the ingredients, but the quality of the people.
Auglaize County citizens work hard, but they also realize the importance of good, clean fun. Enjoy the state’s largest man-made lake, Grand Lake St Marys, which provides ample recreational opportunities from boating, fishing, water skiing and swimming in the warm months, to skating and cross country skiing in the winter. Visit Neil Armstrong Air & Space Museum, Bicycle of America or one of the man festivals dedicated to the heritage of the area.
